Explorer Media worked with Surf City Hotel to develop a content calendar, design graphics, shoot photos for social media use, and write captions. Over the course of two years, through the work of Explorer Media, Surf City Hotel experienced nearly 60% growth in social media following and engagement rates over 10%


Located a few steps from the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, The Surf City Hotel is a historic landmark on Long Beach Island. Home for over 100 years, this legendary establishment has remained open for hotel guests April through October. For added value and convenience, beach badges are provided to all guests. The Hotel has several dining options, and guests are within walking distance to even more restaurants, shops and mini golf.
Surf City Bistro, The Clam Bar, Sushi Bar, and Liquor Store are located at the Surf City Hotel for the enjoyment of our valued guests and locals. Our dining options are open weekends April through mid-June. During the summer, the Surf City Hotel offers live entertainment daily at the Bistro during dinner hours or in our Beach Club for late night.

Establishing a Base

Before I began working with Surf City Hotel, I did a deep dive into their social media and overall online presence. This allows me to set a starting point for all future analytics and provide early insights on social media plans and recommendations. 

These initial insights also help me set goals for the short and long term goals for my social media management work. With Surf City Hotel, these goals were simply, engage with their current audience and reaching new customers. Much of my early strategy was designed around building consistency and reengaging with previous followers. 


Over the course of two years of social media management, based on my recommendations, Surf City Hotel experienced a 63% increase in total following across Facebook and Instagram, almost entirely from organic growth.
