Call to Action

A Call to Action or CTA is a prompt to get your audience or viewer to do a specific thing. This could be anything from the caption of an Instagram pointing to a link in the bio to a button on an email for a link. 

Campaign

Campaigns are a series of coordinated activities on social media aimed at a specific goal. A campaign is run for a specific length of time with outcomes that can be tracked and measured. Campaigns can be on one platform or multiple. 

Click Through Rate

Click through rate or CTR is a measure of how many times a link, button, or image was clicked, whether that is to read more, shop, or other actions. 

Copy

Generally, copy is defined as the text within a publication of composition. When is comes to marketing, copy is used to refer to any written elements designed to be seen by your audience. For social media, that’s usually captions. It can also be blog posts, writing on your website, or what’s written in your email newsletters.

Cost Per Acquisition

Cost per Acquisition or CPA is a measurement used to determine how much it cost the business to acquire one paying customer. This can be applied to a specific campaign or to a general channel of marketing. It can be calculated by dividing the total cost of a campaign or work on one channel by the number of new customers acquired by that campaign or channel.

Engagement Rate

Followers are individuals who subscribe or opt in to receive content and updates from your account or page on a social media network like Facebook or Instagram.

Impressions are a term commonly seen in social media analytics. It represents the number of times your content is displayed. These numbers do not include unique views or clicks.

Interactions

Interaction in social media is a communication between a follower or viewer and your brand’s social media. This could be clicking a link, mentions or tags, or liking a post.

Reach

Reach is a term commonly seen in social media analytics. It represents the total number of unique people who see your content. If a follower sees your content two times, they will count as one person reached.

ROI

ROI is return on investment from social media activities. This is measured by evaluating all social media actions that create value, then dividing by the investment made to accomplish the actions. 

ROAS

ROAS is return on advertising spend. This determines the efficacy of a digital advertising campaign. This can be calculated using different objectives or goals to determine the success of ad strategies. This can be calculated by dividing the revenue generated by the ad strategy by the total cost of managing the ad strategy. 

SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website. SEO is driven through organic search results, not paid.
SEO can also be applied to social media as well as your website. This is done through including certain short and long tail keywords in captions and including alt text information.
